Design of  Gowns

After the initial contact is made either by email or phone a Free Consultation is offered and booked. Here we discuss ideas and thoughts of the bride or bridesmaids, mother of the bride and or groom.

Designs are discussed in great depth along with the fabric most suitable for the design then colour, at this stage I drape fabric around the brides shoulder to get the right colour for her skin tone.

I work mainly from pictures either collected from magazines or sketches drawn by the brides themselves. It's very important for me to know and understand just where the bride, bridesmaid etc are coming from so that I can create the gown of their dreams.
I try very hard to work within their budget which is a big thing with most brides.

Although I have fabric samples in my workroom to show the brides and others , I also offer my services to go fabric shopping  with them as I know just how over whelming this can be to those who have a limited knowledge of fabric, brides are far more relaxed knowing that I'm there with them. It also cuts the time down in the long run because they do not have to come back to me with samples they have choosen for my advice. Going that extra mile goes a long way.

Making of the Gowns.

I generally start to make the gowns six weeks out from the wedding date as I find in that shorter period of time the body shape remains mostly the same. There are three appointments set out, the first being for measurements, at this stage I go through the design  step by step just in case there are any changes, I also jot down any small request the bride may have. The next two appointments are for fittings. All gowns are completly finished a week before the wedding, this is stressed to all brides so they don't need to panic.

Mothers of the Bride/Grooms.

They go through the same sequence as the brides/bridesmaids. As I specialise in the full bridal party the same applies If mothers are wanting hats or fasacinaters which is very in vouge  right now, I can accommodate their requirements.

In my salon I have a selection of Veils and accessories. Also there is a portfolio of gowns that I have created for perusal  as it is not practical to show all the gowns I have created on my website.
